About The Spoke Education Foundation
Our Mission
Our intention of the foundation is to help raise money to give back to those in our community by giving away scholarships each year to applicants for various needs in their pursuit of higher education. This can be for supplies, housing, food, classes, etc.; whatever they need to better themselves in the pursuit of greater skills and knowledge in their chosen field.
Our Applicants
Each summer we accept applications from potential candidates to award our scholarships to. How many or how much or to whom they are awarded is determined by our board of directors. These can be based on need, academics, merit, community service, athletics, etc. Applicants going from high school to college, already in college, a trade school or any higher education are acceptable. If someone wants to go to a specialty school, that is also acceptable. As long as it is to seek a higher education in anything that betters themselves as a human being and prepares them to contribute to society in a positive manor.
Our Fundraisers
Amongst other smaller fundraising events, our Flagship event in the fall is our Spoke Open Golf Tournament and in the spring we host our 0.5k Underachievers Fun Run. We do other charitable things throughout the year in which funds raised go into the Foundation account.
